The Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) is a life-changing adventure you don’t want to miss. It’s about going the extra mile, learning new skills for work and life, getting fitter, helping others, and exploring the countryside.
There are 3 sections to complete in your own time over 3 months for 2 sections and 6 months for 1 section. The sections are:
Volunteering is all about making a difference to others’ lives. Perhaps you’re interested in animals or conservation? Or you want to raise money for a cause that means a lot to you? You can do this in school by volunteering as a reading mentor or library assistant.
The Physical section is a chance for you to focus on your health and fitness and have fun along the way. This can be one of our after school clubs in PE or a club you attend already.
From podcasting to playing a musical instrument, the Skills section is a great way to learn a new talent, develop existing skills and find something you enjoy doing. Again this can be done within school.
Finally the EXPEDITION section is what you’ll plan and train for during your after school club. Your expedition will include; spending two days and one night away camping, exploring the countryside and spending a night away with your friends. Your expedition will give you lifelong memories.
