Students shine on GCSE results day
Year 11 students at Ormiston NEW Academy are celebrating a major milestone as they receive their GCSE results today.
The school is celebrating the achievements of its students, who have shown resilience and ambition throughout their studies and are now preparing to take their next steps in education, training or employment.
This year’s cohort achieved particularly highly in English language, science, religious studies and IT.
The whole school community has come together today to mark the students’ achievements, hard work and dedication, as they look ahead to the next stage of their education.
While all students have achieved well, some individual achievements include:
- Jaspinder who achieved four grade 9s in biology, chemistry, physics, religious studies, three grade 8s in English language, mathematics and Spanish and one Distinction* in business.
- Amber who secured three grade 9s in English language, history and religious studies, two 8s in combined science, an 8 in English literature, a 7 in mathematics and two Distinction*s in health and social care and childcare.
- Richard who received grade 9s in biology, chemistry, physics, computing, English language and English literature, a grade 8 in mathematics, a Distinction in business studies and a Merit in sport.
- Somoto who achieved grade 9s in chemistry and computing, grade 8s in biology, mathematics and physics, grade 7s in English language and English literature, a Distinction* in IT and a Distinction in business studies.
